The Northland Festivals Officers and Board of Directors are pleased to announce the 41st Grand Marshal of the Snake Saturday Parade and Festival is David Johnson.
For 41 years, the Mickey Finn and Bill Grigsby dream has continued to flourish, as we commemorate the tradition of having a Grand Marshal for the Parade. It began with Grigsby and Finn themselves, and last year, our President, Micky Finn’s handpicked replacement, J.D. Green, had the honor. Numerous stalwarts of the Northland Community have been bestowed with this esteemed title, earning it through their unwavering dedication to the community, their contributions, and their efforts to better the lives of others.
The 41st Grand Marshal has earned numerous accolades over the years, a testament to his unwavering commitment to supporting the community. He is responsible for nearly 3,000 employees across his various enterprises and is a fervent supporter of the University of Missouri athletics.
His impressive resume would keep us here reading for several minutes, but we will highlight a few key accomplishments before delving into his business acumen. He has served the community as a Western Missouri Soccer League Coach, a YMCA and SPCAA Basketball Coach, and as a Clay Platte Little League Umpire. His dedication to community service is evident in every role he has undertaken.
Now, let us turn our attention to his business achievements. He owns and operates a Real Estate Investment Trust with 13,000 apartments. He is the Chairman of Maxus Properties, a leader at Verimore Bank, and, as many know, the founder of Chicken and Pickle. The first Chicken and Pickle was established in North Kansas City and has since expanded to 12 different cities.
